Today Cisco is launching their Social Networking platform, Bravo.
The problem for me is that they don't know this biz and that the new EOS does not even look like is working right yet. I was just on their site and the videos were not playing, user profiles were nowhere to be found, etc, etc.

(their VIDEO DEMO DOES NOT EVEN WORK TODAY on my Mac at least, Sorry John)
I don't see people in the media industry starting to use this Blog platform (this looks like a blog to me from their PDF's) just because is powered by Cisco. I would not. What Cisco needs is to buy a real social networking company other than Five a Cross with real media clients and than forced them to upgrade to the new EOS.
Now,
Jeremiah thinks that Cisco may put this as a loss leader in order to get new customers that will start sending RFP's to Cisco right a way. (I don't think that Jeremiah came up with the RFP thing). I agree with the fact that Cisco needs to show that they are not just a Tech player, but a solution provider 100% and this will take time and this market is busy as it is. I am not seeing many big companies wanting to play a Russian roulette in this market with a new unproven vendor in the space (whose platform demo does not even work on their launch at CES ;)
